The five-star Playa Del Carmen resort Viceroy Riviera Maya announced it is pairing with renowned mezcal distillery Pozo Hondo for a Cinco de Mayo “Tacos & Mezcal Tasting” at the luxury beachfront destination. The special event takes place May 5-7, and features three days of top-notch meals paired with Pozo Hondo’s award-winning mezcal as well as Mexican wines.
Highlights of the three-day event include a special taco and mezcal tasting hosted by Pozo Hondo owner Alberto Alvelais, a six-course meal with an optional wine pairing prepared by guest chef Thalia Barrios García and Viceroy Riviera Maya head chef,Julio Cesar Chavez Arias, Tamal cooking lessons, and more.
The Cinco de Mayo Tacos & Mezcal Tasting highlights the new partnership between the Viceroy Riviera Maya and Pozo Hondo, the award-winning, family-owned distillery that’s been using the same recipe and methods since its founding in 1840. With the partnership, guests at the Viceroy Riviera Maya will have the opportunity to learn more about the distillery and its time-honored methods through private tours and Pozo Hondo spirits will be served in the resort’s restaurants and bars.
