Travel Guru Frommer Reacquires Brand from Google

Just weeks after it was reported that Google would stop publishing Frommer's-brand travel books, Arthur Frommer has announced that he has reacquired the brand and will resume publishing Frommer's guidebooks, The Associated Press reports.

Google acquired the Frommer's brand from Wiley publishing company last summer, and then travel blog Skift.com reported last month that Google was "quietly pulling the plug" on the travel guides.

Frommer confirmed Wednesday his plans to take the brand back over. "It's a very happy time for me, the 83-year-old told the AP. "We will be publishing Frommer travel guides in the ebook and print formats and will also be operating the travel site Frommers.com.
