Miss. News Anchor: Gays Go Away and Take a 'Gaycation'
People are both confused and angry after Dave Elliott, an anchor at WLOX in Biloxi, Miss., posted on Facebook that LGBT people should take a long trip.
Elliott posted the following this week: "I'm all for the LGBT community's ongoing fight for equality. I support their fight in every way. But, it seems like they've been in the news too much lately. Maybe they should take a short break. Go on gaycation, just for the weekend. Enjoy yourselves!"
Elliot's Facebook page appeared to be down or deleted as of Friday. After Elliott's post went viral, WLOX posted on its Facebook page "that we are not happy at all with the post or any imagined 'free publicity'" that the station receives from it. The station's Facebook page appeared to be down on Friday, as well. Read more here.
