The attorney general had some words for her forthcoming successor.
During her eight years as attorney general under President Obama’s terms, Loretta Lynch has remained devoted to LGBT rights. Working tirelessly in support of marriage equality, family rights, and LGBT protections, she’s become one of the community’s most powerful allies.
As Trump’s inauguration grows closer, her position will be fulfilled by known anti-LGBT politician, Jeff Sessions. As a conservative member of Congress, Sessions has fought against marriage equality and LGBT discrimination protections.
After visiting the Harvey Milk School and the Stonewall National Monument in New York, Lynch sat down at the Stonewall Inn with Rachel Maddow to reflect on the last eight years and what is to come. They paid respects to the LGBT landmark, discussing its history and relevance to today’s struggles. Lynch also had some choice words for her forthcoming successor.
