Dubai's Floating Villas are House Boats of the Future

Last year, Dubai's Kleindienst Group announced an innovative new design for a yacht that would provide spectacular views both above and below the surface. Dubbed the "Floating Seahorse", the designs feature the luxury design and amenities of a penthouse apartment with the beauty and seclusion of the sea. Its underwater bedroom provides floor-to-ceiling views of the deep.

The first Floating Seahorse has been built and is now anchored off the coast of Dubai's "The World" artificial island project. Upon completion, the project will consist of 42 Floating Seahorses. Although the 42 units have sold to investors, it's only the first in a series of phases in which 131 units will ultimately be constructed. 

If the sheer elegance weren't enough of an attraction, the project also aims to protect aquatic life in the Persian Gulf.

“We will create an artificial coral reef beneath the luxury retreats which will be a protected area in which seahorses can safely live and breed,” a press release from the Kleindienst Group stated.
