The LA Art Show 2017 is about to takeover Downtown Los Angeles.
The LA Art Show, hailed as the West Coast's most esteemed and comprehensive visual art experience, returns to Downtown Los Angeles this week, and in preparation for all the festivities, here's a look a look at 5 things you should definitely know about the annual event that celebrates the best of the art world.
1. The 2017 LA Art Show is taking over Downtown Los Angeles for a whole 4 days.
This year's edition of the annual LA Art Show runs from Thursday, January 12 to Sunday, January 15 (with a special opening night party on Wednesday, January 11) and is taking place in the West Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center, Downtown's iconic event venue.
2. This year, there's a huge emphasis on Latin American art.
The diversity of Latin American art will be taking center stage for this year's Art Show, and renowned artists like Carlos Martiel, Norton Maza, Louis Hock, the DOMA collective and Scherezade Garcia will all have work showcased at some of the Art Show's 90 galleries.
3. Dialogs LA will return for its fourth year at the LA Art Show.
Dialogs LA is a series of talks and panels that features artists and creatives discussing different topics pertaining to the arts. The lecture series is already in its fourth year; a full calendar schedule is available for preview, here.
4. The LA Art Show always finds ways to give back to the community.
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will be benefiting from the proceeds of the LA Art Show's opening night premiere party, which will take place on Wednesday, January 11 from 8pm-11pm at the LA Convention Center's West Hall. Buy tickets to the charitable event, here.
