This Air Route to a Tiny Island in Asia is the Busiest in the World

European routes didn't even make the list.

Most people would assume that the busiest air routes in the world would involve a major Western city like New York or London, but actually only one route involving North America made the top-ten list of busiest routes.

This year, Asia comprised a majority of the list. Planes took 65,000 trips between Seoul, South Korea to the tiny island of Jeju. This number equivocated to 178 daily flights. To put this into perspective that's double the number of trips between the United States' busiest route between San Francisco and Los Angeles. [OAG]

So what's the big deal with Jeju?

Take a look at these stunning pictures of this island that Chinese and South Koreans take advantage of for their holidays.
