A diverse crowd of Israelis and Palestinians turned out last week to view world-famous racers zip past Jerusalem streets at over 150 miles per hour, all part of the Jerusalem F1 Peace Roadshow.
The Formula 1 racing event featured Ferrari test driver and three-time Grand Prix winner Giancarlo Fisichella flying through the city in his red F1 racing car. Other famous car, superbike, and stunt drivers delighted the crowd, which was in the tens of thousands.
While many were pleased with the peaceful event, some Palestinian officials accused Israelis of using it to demonstrate their control of the city, which both groups claim as their capital. Read more here.
