With shows representing Inverness in the far North of Scotland to Plymouth in the Southwest of England, and Manchester in the Northwest to London in the Southeast, this year's Brits Off Broadway festival features the full breadth of the best in new British theater in New York City.

Of particular note, is Tuesdays at Tesco's, featuring legendary British actor Simon Callow. An English language adaptation of the Moliere-nominated play Le Mardi a Monoprix — which Le Figaro called, “a superb piece of theatre: beautiful, pure and simple" — Tuesdays at Tesco's is the story of Pauline:

"a transwoman who, every week, visits her aging father, cooking and cleaning for him, before taking him on a weekly grocery trip. Every Tuesday afternoon, Pauline is subjected to her father's very public bigotry and ire, but she keeps calm and carries on, even as the small town Tesco customers stare at them as they make their way down the aisles."

Performances begin May 14 for a limited engagement through Sunday, June 7. The performance schedule is Tues.–Thurs. at 7 p.m.; Friday at 8 p.m.; Saturday at 2 p.m. & 8 p.m.; and Sunday at 3 p.m. & 7 p.m. Please note, there is no 7 p.m. performance on Sunday, May 17. Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). Tickets are $70 ($49 for 59E59 Members). To purchase tickets, call Ticket Central at (212) 279-4200 or go to www.59e59.orgFor the complete list, visit BritsOffBroadway.com
