Brunch in NYC This Weekend to Benefit Homeless LGBT Youth

Respect the Brunch

Eat, drink, and be charitable.

It’s inevitable that you’ll spend many a spring weekend brunching with friends. The biting cold isn’t there anymore to keep you from the sweet and savory possibilities that a New York City does so well on an early Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

So this week, why not help younger members of the LGBTQ community in need while you sip a mimosa or stir a bloody mary? Respect the Brunch, an event that began in Atlanta in 2013, has made its way up the coast and will be making its NYC debut this weekend. A Williamsburg favorite, Battery Harris, will play host to the inaugural occasion, featuring a Caribbean-American menu and signature drinks like their Dark n’ Stormy Frozie.

Partnering with the Ali Forney Center, the nation’s largest organization dedicated to helping homeless LGBTQ youth, Respect the Brunch will donate 20% of every check to people in need. When’s the last time you could say that your fourth drink at brunch wasn’t just for you, but for charity?

Battery Harris is located at 64 Frost Street, Brooklyn, NY 11211. Respect the Brunch runs from noon to 4pm this Saturday, March 5. Visit them on Facebook and Instagram.
