Story by Olga Bas

Located in the heart of Chelsea on 22nd Street, the GEM Hotel is one of three locations recently opened by Gemini Hospitality in New York. Previously the location had been occupied by Allerton, a Spartan hotel with leaning towards long-term stay customers, and it has now been transformed into luxurious accommodations.

With 81 available rooms starting at $189 (yes, even during the Thanksgiving holiday!), this New York City hotel is within walking distance from all that Chelsea has to offer, including world-famous restaurants, night clubs, contemporary art galleries, shopping and more. When you're tired of walking, you can return to this Chelsea oasis where each room features a wide-screen flat-panel LCD television and free high-speed Internet.

Boasting boutique chic atmosphere, the hotel's amenities include nightly turn-down service, free coffee, concierge service, wireless Internet access in the lobby, high-end Gilchrist & Soames bath amenities, monogrammed bath robes and free shoe shine service.

TAG approved (i.e. designated gay friendly by community marketing, a well-respected gay marketing firm in the hospitality industry) the GEM Hotel is also looking forward to hosting various neighborhood events such as a wine tasting in January and various activities for the next Pride week in the city.
