We already do love Germany: Berlin gets cooler every year, and more fun. But the news that star super-hot soccer player Mario Gomez has called for gay players to come out, reasoning that "They would play as if they had been liberated. Being gay should no longer be a taboo topic", makes us love it even more.
Is Gomez gay, you might ask? He's not saying either way, but added: "We've got a gay vice-chancellor [Guido Westerwelle]; the Berlin mayor [Klaus Wowereit] is gay. So professional footballers should own up to their preference," he said.
