One of the most interesting trends to observe in gay travel over the past decade has been the complete about face of many destinations' official tourism bureaus. Whereas 10 years ago most didn't want to acknowledge LGBT visitors, now the most savvy are fully embracing our dual-income, no-kid demographic.
Some have gone a step further making gay- and lesbian-specific information available for dowload or through their website. And some of the most sophisticated have launched queer-specfic microsites. A particularly good example of a recent destination to offer homo happenenins on their site: the Greater Houstin Convention and Vistors Bureau has updated and relaunched MyGayHouston.com. The site has a fresh new look and oodles of useful content. It's sponsored by the destination so don't look for controversial information, of course, but definitely check it out next time you visit.
