Sailors in uniforms are great. Hot sailors in uniforms are even better. And then multiply that by hundreds and you have died and gone to heaven. Well not quite, but Fleet Week is pretty close to it!
Yes that’s right, our favorite long weekend in New York City has begun. Since 1984 NYC has been hosting this first-rate event to honor the US Navy and Marine Corps, but this year it will be even better. Why? Because with the repeal of DADT, we can all get ‘buoyed up’ and maybe, just maybe, see some sexy sailors out at the gay bars for once -- in uniform, not incognito.
The streets (and bars) will be chock-a-block full of servicemen and women from now until June 1. You will be able to catch a glimpse (or your very own sailor) at any of the events that are set to launch this week. Just one more reason to love Memorial Day weekend...
So in the famous words of Sex and the City’s Samantha Jones: “Ladies, Seamen, 12 o’clock!” Anchors away and happy cruising.
