Our hearts are racing with anticipation.

EDC Las Vegas is back and ravers from all over the world (nearly 525,000 people) are gearing up for the most exciting year yet. It's no wonder this iconic festival is the second biggest in the world.

With headliners including Diplo, David Guetta, Alison Wonderland, FISHER, Alesso, Armin van Buuren, Dillon Francis, John Summit, Steve Aoki, Illenium, Martin Garrix, DJ Snake, Zedd, and so many more ready to hit the stage at Las Vegas Motor Speedway... this will be a weekend nobody will forget.

One particular DJ that's ready to show up and show out is EDM icon Kaskade. The star is an Insomniac darling as he's performed at a ton of the top festivals around the world and he's even solidified a can't-miss residency at Resorts World Las Vegas.

Just ahead of his mind-blowing set at EDC, the star caught up with Out Traveler to dish on his impressive career, Grammy nomination, and exhilarating sets that fans have to see to believe in Sin City.

Out Traveler: Kaskade! You're back in Las Vegas for EDC. You've become a staple in EDM and for EDC, so how does it feel returning to Sin City?

Kaskade: Las Vegas has become pretty much my second home with this residency at Resorts World. I love everything about their venues, from the massive Zouk experience to the heat of Summer Lovin at Ayu. EDC is such an anchor for the electronic community, so I couldn’t be happier that my headquarters at Resorts World host EDC Week.

What should fans expect at your set this time around?

Their lives will be changed. It will be loud. As always, there are going to be moments where they know what’s coming next and then the moments when they *think* they know…

You've been on a roll when it comes to new music. What new bangers will fans get to hear at EDC? Also, what new tunes should we be looking for?

I have a good arsenal of unreleased tracks I’ve been trying out on different crowds. Not an official announcement but if you’ve been paying attention, John Summit and Alison Wonderland have both been front and center in my orbit so make of that what you will.

This has already been a huge year for you following your nomination at the Grammys and performing all over the world. What goes through your head when you see how far you've come as a DJ?

A million different things, but all colored with gratitude. I don’t ever get over the amazement that this all worked out. I’ll always have that starry-eyed appreciation.

Besides Vegas, I've seen you perform at Resorts World and it was unbelievable. How would you say your sets have evolved at Zouk Nightclub?

Las Vegas is a shape shifter. Unlike other cities where there is a feeling that comes for the community that lives there, Vegas is made of different people from different parts of the world each time. It always begins like a first date, getting to know you feels. If I do my job right though, by the end of the night we’re in a committed relationship.

For people coming to Vegas on vacation, how would you describe your sets at Zouk Nightclub to EDM lovers?

There’s not a way to describe them. Sometimes they reflect what I’m doing on bigger festival stages and sometimes they go pretty deep and sometimes people just want the bangers. The tone of the set is a result of how I’m reading the crowd, so I guess – don’t come with expectations, just show up and dance.

Your bond with deadmau5 is definitely tighter than ever. What's it been like bonding so much with another iconic DJ?

I’ve always respected Joel, even before I met him. Working together on projects and then watching him grow as an artist on his own and the other collaborations he’s done with amazing artists has been great to watch. I’m happy that he’s had so much success and I know he will continue to crush it.

Last fun question for you, what are you manifesting right now? You've achieved so much, so what's on your bucket list?

More time to surf, the ambition to organize my garage, and maybe for Sade or Adele to give me a call asking if I have something for them to sing on.

Kaskade performs Sunday night (Monday morning) at 1:47am PT at Kinetic Field during EDC Las Vegas. Fans can also learn more about his residency at Resorts World Las Vegas here.
