The group had refused to follow mask protocols and were already being escorted off the plane when the homophobic outburst occurred.
A viral video shows a woman and children being escorted off a flight for refusing to comply with mask requirements. As they depart, one begins repeatedly using anti-gay slurs – and passengers reacted.
The woman is identified in the video’s caption as a Dallas-area realtor, who is traveling with several children.
Someone from their group (likely one of the children) can be heard using the slur “faggot” repeatedly. When passengers call out their disapproval, the video shows the woman turning around to argue with the passengers.
“Get off the plane,” one man yells. “No one wants to listen to your bigotry! Get off the plane!”
“You think I talk to my kids about same-sex marriage!” the woman yells as the rest of the group exits. “No, we don’t talk about that. But if we all want to talk about it, let’s talk about it.”
Before anyone could talk about LGBTQ+ weddings (or ask how the f-word relates to same-sex marriage), a person off camera pulls the woman to the door.
The passengers erupt in rousing applause at her forcible ejection from the flight.
