OnePulse Foundation Seeks Memorial Status for Pulse Nightclub

The nonprofit intends to raise money for a permanent memorial.

A recently-created nonprofit charity for the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando, OnePulse Foundation, is seeking to make the location a permanent memorial. According to the articles of incorporation filed by the charity with the Florida Department of State Division of Corporations, they will use donations for “conceiving, funding, and aiding in the construction of a permanent memorial on the existing Pulse site in Orlando…and other relevant sites to be determined by the Board.” Funds raised by the nonprofit will also benefit the victims of the shooting and their immediate financial needs.

A post on the OnePulse Foundation’s Instagram announced its intent to create a memorial:

Owner of Pulse Nightclub, Barbara Poma recently told WESH Orlando that the future of the establishment is unclear. She also said a social media post by the nightclub regarding a memorial was “prematurely posted.” It was later deleted form the club’s official Instagram.

But Pulse spokeswoman Sara Brady recently said that the owners intended to turn the nightclub into a memorial.
