Shot of the Day: Hawaiian Tropic

We at Out Traveler are happy to announce a new daily — we hope — feature. Our "Shot of the Day" will highlight a beautiful vacation picture from anyone (but hopefully LGBT). Today's "Shot of the Day" comes from Sunnivie Brydum, the associate editor of The Advocate, Out Traveler's sister publication. Sunnivie and her partner, Mac Simon, enjoy some rest and relaxation at dusk on a quiet, secluded, clothing-optional beach just a few miles outside of Kahului airport on Maui, after they were unexpectedly gifted with an extra nine hours on the island when they agreed to take a later flight back to Los Angeles. The quiet beach, sparsely populated by locals basking in the afternoon sun and wading into tidepools with their toddlers, is nestled in Baldwin Park, just off the Hana Highway between the airport and the rustic, friendly town of Paia. Sunnivie and Mac split their time in Maui between two LGBT-popular resorts, the Maui Sunseeker and the Lumeria Maui.
