The country is known for its progressive approach towards a "third gender."

A school in Bangkok is setting gender norms for the rest of the world to follow.
Bangkok University posted a photo Sunday to their Facebook page supporting students’ option to dress according to what feels the most comfortable for their gender identity.
The photo features genderbending students sporting both skirts and pants. According to Facebook’s automatic translation, the caption states:
“The University, Bangkok open for students, every gender, especially the gender choice.”
In January, a constitution was drafted in Thailand that would recognize a third gender, giving citizens the right to self-identify and forgo the male or female binary.
Already a socially progressive country, Thailand's example in style isn't to be overlooked either. "Ladyboys" everywhere should be able to embrace platform shoes with their daily uniform, and "tomboys" can look strapping in the right necktie.
