Harvey Milk's Nephew Debuts Gay History Mural in West Hollywood

LGBT rights pioneers including Stuart Milk, nephew of Harvey and founder of the Milk Foundation, were on hand Thursday to cut the ribbon on the West Hollywood Community Mural at the Wells Fargo branch on Santa Monica Boulevard.

Lesbian activist Ivy Bottini and Rev. Troy Perry of the Metropolitan Community Church were also there to celebrate the accomplishments they helped bring to LGBT rights; both are featured on the mural. Everything from marches, bars, the nearby Chateau Marmont hotel, and the railway system that once ran through West Hollywood are spotlighted. The mural was installed on the eve of Los Angeles Pride.

Wells Fargo has installed similar gay history murals in LGBT neighborhoods in San Francisco, New York, Washington, D.C., and Wilton Manors, Fla.
