Drag persona of Rory O'Neill, proprietress of the popular Pantibar, and self-proclaimed 'national fucking treasure," Panti is the focus of the upcoming feature-length documentary, The Queen of Ireland, directed by Conor Horgan.
Tracing Panti's journey from childhood as a young gay boy in rural Ballinrobe to the iconic face and cinched figure of Ireland's successful marriage equality referendum, the documentary offers unprecedented insight into the man behind the woman:
"My job as a drag queen is to commentate from the fringes, to stand on the outside looking in shouting abuse."
