Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling have teamed up for yet another film. Following Crazy, Stupid, Love. and Gangster Squad, their chemistry is now the basis for La La Land from the writer and director of Whiplash, Damien Chazelle. The visually striking musical also stars J.K. Simmons, Finn Wittrock, and John Legend.
Gosling plays Sebastian, a young jazz pianist in Los Angeles who falls for aspiring actress, Mia (Stone). Their love story becomes complicated as success clouds their feelings for each other.
The trailer features a seductive tune sung by Gosling, complemented with vividly colorful shots that give the somber love story a Baz Luhrmann style. The dance numbers harken back Gene Kelly and the musicals of his time. Old Hollywood seems to still be alive in the classically beautiful settings of the film.
