Own an Ancient Greek City for Just $8 Million
An ancient Greek city is officially on the market for $8 million. That’s right, the ruins of the city of Bargylia are rife with archeological discoveries. The site has been privately owned since 1927 in an effort to protect the ruins from looters looking for pieces of antiquity from port city’s glory days.
The 330-acre land is located near Bodrum and is filled with treasures that date back 2,500 years ago. It’s also considered a Grade 1 archeological site because of its major features: a theatre, acropolis, walls, and a cemetery.
Just don’t think of building your dream home on the site. Because of its designation as a Grade 1, there is no legal construction.
So what’s one to do with the $8.2 million property? Brag that you own an ancient city and have some Dionysian fun.
