Holland's Top Model, the Dutch version of Tyra Banks' now cancelled TV show, has crowned a transgender model winner for the first time in the franchise's history.

The show awarded its top position to Loiza Lamers, the first trans person to ever win the competition.

The 20-year-old, a former hairdresser, was chosen over twelve other contestants, and ultimately took home the title in an emotional episode.

Lamers followed in the footsteps of Isis King, who was the first trans model to appear on the show, back in 2008. King was the fifth girl eliminated in cycle 11, and she came back to the competition in 2011 for America's Next Top Model: All Stars, which she did not win.
