The hotly anticipated Cannes Film Festival is nearly upon us — May 13-24 — who amongst the shortlist will win this year’s coveted Palme d’Or? Just as important, however, is the star-power in attendance: Who will be wearing what, and who’s hanging out where?
We’ve compiled our own shortlist of Cannes’ top addresses for spring 2015. But this isn’t your usual list of picks — save this link on your smartphone and consider it your go-to cheat sheet for some of the newer (and cooler) spots that won’t be crammed with wannabes.
Hotel Majestic Barriere
Everyone knows that this is one of Cannes’ top addresses, but there’s never been a better time to stop by. “If you build it they will come” is the newest modus operandi: the owners have recently completed the creation of a synthetic beach right along the coast. Soak up the sunshine and savor the signature mojito ice cream sundaes.
Villa les Palmes
It’s not as glitzy as some of the more famous places to crash, but it’s brand new, a 15-minute walk to the theatre, and it’s apartment-style living. The autonomy can be refreshing with a gaggle of your friends in tow. Expect fully-equipped kitchens, washing machines, and suites with up to the three bedrooms. Bonus: you’re five minutes from the sand.
La Bastide Saint-Antoine
Celebrity chef Jacques Chibois’ pet project, this elegant Relais & Châteaux property is regular hangout for the glitterati; we’re talkin’ serious Kennedy-esque royalty.
