Summer on the Chicago River

Cancel those after work drinks in the usual bar and trot up the gangplank. If you’re planning drinks with friends or a romantic weekend inChicagothis summer, set a Thursday evening aside to go onChicago Architecture Foundations new Evening River Cruise. Running June through September at 5:30 p.m., the hour-long cruise makes for a perfect early evening date, before dropping anchor and heading to dinner in one of Chicago's thrilling slew of restaurantsor to Boystown for the night. The informative and incredibly interesting cruise offers spectacular views of the city from the water.

The cruise highlights 53 historic and architecturally significant sites including: the Trump Tower, Merchandise Mart, 333 W. Wacker, the Wrigley Building, the Tribune Tower, the Sears Tower, River City, and Marina City. The cruise also includes the North Branch of the Chicago River with buildings such as The Montgomery, formerly the world headquarters for Montgomery Ward; the Chicago Tribune printing press plant; Goose Island; Kinzie Park development; Riverbend and the clustered glass River Cottages.

The First Lady Cruises yachts have a full bar. There’s also a full schedule of daytime cruises to choose from.
