Andrew Garfield to Star in Angels of America
The former Spider-Man is heading back to the British stage.
Andrew Garfield will be stepping onto the British stage in 2017 to be a part of one of the most stirring stories set during the AIDS crisis. Garfield will play Prior Walter in the National Theater’s production of Angels in America, a role originated by Stephen Spinella when Tony Kushner's play debuted in 1992, and later played by Justin Kirk in the 2003 HBO version. Walter is a gay man living in New York who is diagnosed with AIDS at the peak of the epidemic. According to Vulture, next year’s London production will be directed by Marianne Elliott with the rest of the cast still unannounced.
