Fall 2006 | Trekking in Nepal

Thomas Kelly, a journalist and filmmaker based in Kathmandu, shot this traditional Buddhist chorten while ?taking the high road? to Mount Everest. The chorten is a Tibetan variation of the Indian stupa, one of the earliest types of Buddhist religious monument. Many mountain tours in Nepal allow travelers to hire an experienced local sherpa (who may be in charge of carrying your oxygen, so be nice!) as a personal climbing partner.

Send Us Your Souvenirs

We at The Out Traveler would like to print your travel photos in the magazine and online. If there are images of your friends, family, and lovers, we may need to have you send paperwork in order for us to reproduce your photos.

To have your photos appear in the magazine, we need either high-resolution color scans (300 dpi), or you can send copies of your photos. Please do not send originals, since we may not be able to return them to you.
