The sun shone bright on the colorful cafes along Nyhavn in Copenhagen, Denmark last September. What a fantastic feeling to be in a country so accepting and welcoming of same-sex couples, having been one of the first to recognize same-sex unions in 1989!
Nyhavn provided my partner Michael and me with the feeling that is encompassed in Copenhagen -- warmth and closeness. It truly is the gem of Europe.
