1. Jim Morrison dangled from a drainpipe while attempting to lower himself down from the roof to his room -- injuring his back in the process. 

2. The Eagles song "Hotel California" is apparently about the Marmont

3. Judy Garland and Kay Thompson once sang together at the lobby's grand piano for director George Cukor. 

4. Led Zeppelin band members rode their bikes through the foyer, to the delight of onlookers and the chagrin of hotel staff. 

5. The Red Hot Chili Peppers' Anthony Kiedis wrote and recorded the song "By the Way" in Suite 78.

6. Green Day were guests while writing the album American Idiot

7. Gram Parsons used a picture of himself sitting across from the front desk for his 1973 album, GP
